30 October 2009

1. It was a dark and stormy night, so I snuggled in my comfy flannel blanket so I can sleep.

2. My friend's arms are in casts, so I offered to take the books myself.

3. Rushing out, I stumbled and tripped on my nephew's Thomas the Tank Engine toy train.

4. Everything was quiet and peaceful this Friday evening...but wait!...I think I heard a howl!

5. Shhhh... my 2-year old nephew is sleeping.

6. I am famished so give me something good to eat!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to eating pizza and chicken, tomorrow my plans include staying at home and blog hopping the whole day and Sunday, I want to relax, sleep, eat and watch a movie!

28 October 2009

It's been a while since I last traveled out of the country and since Christmas is nearing and along with are the long holidays as well, my boyfriend and I are thinking of traveling maybe just within the Asia-Pacific region. After all, we have friends based in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and even in Guam.

This early we're already calculating the expenses we might be incurring although plane tickets-wise, we can get those at discounted rates since my dad has a travel agency. Now we need to scout for hotels to stay in. However, we need to look for the not-so-expensive ones.

It's a good thing I came across this information that Accor Hotels in the Asia Pacific region are holding a 3-day super sale in all of their hotels, that's over 1,000,000 hotel rooms, all over the Asia Pacific region! What's even better is the hotel rooms has starting rates of as low as $30.00 per night! Yipee! This early, I can imagine how much we'll be saving by availing of Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale Asia Pacific which has been running since 27th October and will last until 30th October. All we need to do is book the room online within that time period and once we do, we just need to choose any date between 09th December until 10th April in which to stay in the hotel.

With the hotel details practically ironed out and extra money in our account from the sale we'd be availing of, we have enough time and money left in our hands to plan on the other aspects of our impending trip.☺

On the 6th of November, my boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 2nd year as a couple. I'm so proud of the fact that we lasted this long, to think that half of those 2 years were spent apart (long-distance).

I guess we're sort of excited since this will be the first time we're celebrating our anniversary together. The 1st time, he was in a foreign country and I was here in the Philippines and all I did that day was cry out of sadness. That said, we decided to celebrate ahead of time. Weird, right? Well, that's how excited we are. LOL!

Anyway, we decided to have lunch at Conti's in BF Homes, Parañaque. It's one of our favorite restaurants, incidentally. It's a wonderful pastry shop-cum-restaurant in one, although ironically, we didn't eat dessert there today (we, err, I, since he's not a coffee drinker, decided to have coffee at the Starbucks just across the street from Conti's).

Since it took him some time to get to Conti's, although he lives within the are, I decided to order Shrimp Croquettes (Php 125.00) as appetizer (mine alone - he's allergic to seafood). When he got there, we ordered our lunch- I had Baked Salmon with Paella Rice (Php 295.00), which happens to be one of their house specialties and he had American Grilled Ribs with Mashed Potatoes (Php 250.00)- both of which had sidings (buttered vegetables). Affordable prices, I must say. For such a hearty lunch, we only paid less than Php 800.00.

I'm still quite full from the lunch.☺

This is the actual place where we had our lunch although the picture's from The Manila City Guide's website.

His American Grilled Ribs (for some reason, he asked for the mashed potatoes to be served on a separate platter) .☺

You messed up yesterday.
You said the wrong words,
took the wrong turn,
loved the wrong person,
reacted the wrong way.

You spoke when you should have listened,
walked when you have waited,
judged when you should have trusted,
indulged when you should have resisted.

You messed up yesterday.
But you'll mess up more
if you let yesterday's mistakes
sabotage today's attitude.

Today's a NEW DAY. Live it well.

Some people are afraid to take risks because they fear failure. Thus, they let some chances pass them by. But really, what's life without risks? Most often than not, risks are what make life worth living. They make life more meaningful. The best part of all? We learn from taking risks.

I fail to understand a few things.

I, even at times, close my mind to things I never want to face.

I get depressed.

I mess up when I can't manage everything coming by.

I cry when I can't help myself anymore.

I mourn, I become sad.

I try to transform my emotions to something else,

just to forget.

I lie. I make mistakes.

I get jealous and upset.

I feel down like a toy being dumped.

I get hurt but I still choose to exist.

Just because I LOVE.

22 October 2009

Last week, my boyfriend suddenly went MIA for 1 night. I was worried sick and at the same time furious with him because he didn't call as promised. I sent him tons of angry text messages, the last of which I told him to just remain MIA if that's what makes him happy.

Pretty childish of me, right? I know, I know. Well, that's one of my looniesisms (obviously, I made this word up). Anyway, early the following day, he called me up. I rejected his call a couple of times but he was so persistent so I took his call. I ranted and ranted and when I was finished he told me why he went MIA. Turns out he was rushed to the hospital because he suddenly felt numb all over. Doctor said he was low on potassium and if his parents weren't quick to respond, well, you get the picture. Oh, I was so mad at myself when I learned that. There I was, thinking unimaginable things while my honey was on the verge of...ooh!

Well, since then he has been to the hospital 2 more times because he's taking in potassium intravenously. The doctor told him he has to take potassium in 3 times a week for 2 months in order for his potassium level to go back to normal. A friend told me that a drop in potassium can be very deadly as it can cause an abrupt halt to a person's heartbeat. I wouldn't want that to happen. Tomorrow, he's scheduled for another potassium-intake session. This early, he's told me that he might not be able to text or call me because of that. So I'm being a very understanding and good girlfriend now. Or so I hope. LOL!

I'm sure some of you have read my post about CloudCrowd, the Facebook application that's actually a money making one. I discussed it within this blog a few days back.

Anyway, after I made my post, I checked back regularly with CloudCrowd but always ended up disappointed because there weren't any tasks available. I was beginning to think it was all a hoax.

But today, I went in and tried to look for opps but instead, I found a letter from Alex Cloud, CEO of CloudCrowd. From the letter, it was obvious that since CloudCrowd was still in beta, there were still a few minor glitches that needed to be resolved. In it, Alex said there will be new tasks available by next week.

Whew! Now I can sigh with relief. For a moment there I thought I made a mistake in telling my friends about it. I was starting to feel embarrassed and guilty thinking that some other bloggers actually signed up for CloudCrowd under my name. But I'm counting on Alex' word for it.

I'm posting a copy of his letter to all CloudCrowd workers.

I know that majority of bloggers are moms who work from home because they have little children to take care of. Now this afternoon, as I was going through my inbox, an e-mail with the subject 'DEADLY MEDICATION" caught my attention so I opened that one first. It was a forwarded e-mail from a guy friend and the moment I read it, I knew I just had to share it to others.

I guess some of you have received a similar item in your respective in-boxes but let me share it nonetheless. According to the e-mail, Asia has now become a dumping ground for banned drugs and that most of these banned drugs are being reproduced and manufactured in Asian countries. I guess that's why it's very important to always consult a doctor when something goes wrong and to buy prescription medicine. It also pays to buy from reputable pharmacies and drug stores only. Anyway, below is a list of medicines that have been banned as well as the reason why they were banned by other countries. I'm actually posting it here verbatim.

1. PHENYLPROPANOLAMINE :
cold and cough.. Reason for ban : stroke.
Brand name : Vicks Action-500

2. ANALGIN:

I am SO touched. My first ever tag (LOL!) and may i say that this is also a getting-to-know-you award of some sort. This was passed on to me by one very precious mom-blogger, Redamethyst of Simple Pero Rock. Thanks Red for thinking that getting to know me better is worth your time. :)

Anyway, this special award involves sharing five things you [I] love to do & passing it to 5 friends, or in my case, since I'm quite new to the world of blogging, 5 potential friends. :) Here goes:

5 Things I Love:

* The color purple - anything in the shade of purple: shoes, bags, clothes, ANYTHING!...heck, I even have a purple teddy bear!

* Books! I love reading books from Nora Roberts to Sophie Kinsella to Robert Ludlum to Dan Brown. In fact, aside from those I buy from local bookstores, I also bug my dad, who lives in the USA, to buy me some and I'm so excited because he told me he just bought me 20 new books! Yay!

* Writing. Give me a blank sheet of paper (or hook me up to the internet) and I'd find a way to come up with something to write. I just love writing. It's something I never quite outgrew, thank God! I write when I'm happy, in love, frustrated, broken hearted, sad and ecstatic. It's my therapy. :)

* Chocolates! Another stuff which I never outgrew. In fact, as I'm writing this post, I'm munching on some Hershey's Kisses. =D

* My family, especially my babies, well not my own but my siblings'. I have 2 nieces who live in the USA, Ysha who's 20 and Aprille who is 13, not quite babies anymore but I took care of them when they were still babies so they'll always be my babies and a 2 year old baby boy named Keoni, the same one who lights up my days and nights. :)

Oh no! I just blabbered, didn't I? So sorry. I get carried away most of the time. Anyway, I'm passing this on to 5 blogger "friends" whom I want to get to know better. :)

My namesake Bambie Dear of Fab Momma
Clarissa of Kizuna
Kaye of WAHMaholic
Pehpot of Make or Break
Elai of Elai's Haven

ConversationsWithMoms:Every day Conversations with a Mom Blog

Oh! I am so annoyed with my boyfriend right now. See yesterday, I had no idea I was going out to get the groceries. I woke up knowing full well I was going to spend the whole day in front of the computer but then my sis-in-law told me we were going out. So off we went to the grocery. While there, we decided to eat at a Japanese restaurant and much to my surprise, I saw an old boyfriend of mine. We didn't speak to each other, much less smiled at each other but still I thought I'd better tell my boyfriend about it. So I did. Guess what? He won't leave me alone about the whole thing! He's been bugging me and purposely annoying me that I "felt" something when I saw the EX. Oooh! All day today he kept on bugging me about it and it only added up to my frustration yesterday because my day didn't go as planned. I am just so angry right now, that when he called as I'm writing this, I rejected his call.

Sorry for ranting. But this is Friday Frustrations so I guess I can do it, right?

I was surprised to receive an e-mail from PayPal earlier today notifying me that CloudCrowd has paid me once again, for the 3rd time. Surprised because I haven't done any tasks there for the past couple of days.

When I checked my CloudCrowd account, I realized that the payment was actually 10% of what people who signed up for a CloudCrowd account under me earned. I actually earned 3 levels deep.

I've gotten plenty of good feedback from other people about CloudCrowd and although there are days when there aren't any tasks available, I still believe that it is a great income-generator. I guess tasks are limited because CloudCrowd is still in beta phase.

Anyway, here's proof of what I earned from my CloudCrowd "crowd".

I finally received my first ever Trekpay payout. I'm a lazy clicker and I seldom visit my account  so it took a while before I accumulated enough to be able to request a payout. Anyway, the one good thing about Trekpay is that there are lots of clickable ads everyday so even if one doesn't log in to his/her account, the chance of earning is still high.

Thought I'd post the payment proof here just in case there are some out there who are still having doubts about Trekpay.

Here's proof of my 2nd payment from CloudCrowd. I wasn't online that long yesterday, about 30 minutes only to check on my e-mail and Facebook account but while I was logged in to Facebook, I decided to perform a couple of tasks for CloudCrowd. I think I graded just 3 websites for $0.04 each so I was able to earn $0.12. I know it's just $0.12, no cause for excitement, but still, money earned is money gained (or so I say :p).
