I was watching the news last night and in their public service portion, a construction worker who was recently diagnosed with Mesothelioma approached them asking for help. It turns out he used to work for a company which previously used asbestos in their construction projects. The man wasn’t aware of it. In fact, he has been retired for quite a few years already so he didn’t expect his illness to be caused by something he encountered in the past. But when he went to the doctor, he learned that he had Mesothelioma. Now the man is problematic because he doesn’t have the means to pay for his treatments and also because he doesn’t know if he can still sue his previous company for his suffering. Treatments and medicine for Mesothelioma cost a lot and there’s no way for him to shoulder the expenses. It’s a good thing the public affairs department of the TV station advised him that it was possible to file mesothelioma lawsuits and that they can get monetary compensation that can help pay their medical bills and provide for their families. I think the station will help him find a Mesothelioma lawyer to handle his case.
